If the target drive has a free partition with sufficient freespace, install will proceed without further partitioning intervention

With a target drive containing an installed Lubuntu 14.04.2 LTS system, I was not offered any option to auto-resize, only to upgrade 14.04.2 LTS, erase 14.04.2 LTS, erase the whole drive, and 'something else'.
After some testing I found the problem: I booted the installer via grub2 and the iso file: 'grub-n-iso', which seems to have confused the alternatives of the installer. So bug #1479405 affects booting via 'grub-n-iso'.
