The goal of this test case is to check that localization support is functional during the installation, that language packs are installed correctly for those languages in the ISO. During the lang-packs installation, Internet breaks, and the installer handles it gracefully. After the installation is complete and the new system rebooted an informational message is shown prompting users to connect to the Internet to fully install language support.

  1. Power up your machine insert the install media
  2. Press Space when the keyboard icon appears on the bottom of the screen
  3. Select a non English language for the install and press Enter
  4. Select the Install FAMILY option
  5. Once Ubiquity starts click on Forward
    • The installer should be localized from the first screen
  6. Check the language you selected is correct on the list and click Forward
  7. Review information and click Forward
  8. Select Erase and use the entire disk and click Forward
  9. Select your disk and click Install Now
  10. Select your timezone and click Forward
  11. Check your keyboard layout is correct or alter click Forward
  12. Input your initial user details and password (Note admin can not be used it is a dedicated Linux User)
  13. Tick Log in automatically and click on Forward
  14. Check that the installer's slideshow slides are localized
  15. When the installer is installing the lang packs, disconnect the Internet
  16. Once the installer has finished choose to Restart the system now
  17. Remove the disc and press Enter
  18. Allow the machine to reboot and login
  19. Verify that your system is localized:
    • Language packs included in the Live CD: Bengali (bn), German (de), English (en), Spanish (es), French(fr), Portuguese (pt), Xhosa (xh) /!\ Note: this list might vary between milestones
    • If your language is one in the list above:
      • Common translations are installed as part of language packs
      • A pop up shows saying your language support is not complete
    • If your language is not in the list above:
      • Common translations in language packs will not be installed
      • A pop up shows saying your language support is not complete
  20. Check that the calendar shows the regional settings correctly (Note: only in languages on the list above)
