dell [optiplex] 755 (c2d-e6850, 5gb, amd/ati radeon rv516/x1300/x1550)
will re-install over existing partition... will be separate /home & no format of /home
ensure if I'll format /; I think this partition altered BTRFS, XFS or REISERfs but I'll update this once I've worked out what I'll do & which install I'll use (box maybe has focal & jammy); using focal partitions which are sda5 & sda6 (or sda6 & sda7; I forget what swap was).. no partition(s) formatted
reboot & login using jammy session; looks untouched
reboot & login using newly installed kinetic system, looks good with sddm very kubuntu like (config changes), though no kubuntu-desktop installed (I thought it was), no clementine, no xubuntu-desktop, no audacious.. so I've used box for different testing than I recall (likely format install that didn't restore packages), but fortune, figlet, cowsay & minimals needed for my scripts were installed.
assuming winxp (appeared in grub) is good..
