testcase: install using existing partition
install completed, reboot, booted into focal & it looks untouched
reboot & boot into hirsute, it looks untouched
reboot & boot into refreshed impish -
it was here I noticed I'd not seen the DVD/CD tray eject ! (but was the box that did it on sleep? or boot+sleep? i forget - but it feels better I think, but I can't recall what bug report(s) exist on it to check.. - no issue with it so will ignore
impish looks good; default wallpaper; but external drive is untouched; file system looks like a clean install (without touching anything of mine), clementine started & played men-at-work so appears perfect & as expected
I'll assume debian(bookworm) is good & return here only if issue

purpose of install is to test for https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/calamares/+bug/1864787
I expect this to fail; I'll format the / partition & re-use my /home; sda8 & sda9 ... -- used XFS and format /
no failure!; I used XFS as it was oldest in testcase checklist; but don't really want to replace the box Leokolb used
reboot & focal looks good (but atypical; I'm not using this box much & it's extremely non-standard as I'm re-using $HOME so it's not a new setup) but all checks are good
reboot & impish looks good too (re-used $HOME so again atypical install - format of / so no fortune/clementine/figlet & errors etc.. but errors are expected for format of /)
I'l assume xp is fine.. looks that way..
