I adjusted slider ~5/3 ratio rather than default... most going to sda1 or existing
reboot, login to new system, looks good with correct disk utilization..
reboot, login to prior install,
grrr - issue I had with i386 install; I do have a panel but it's empty..., background only on both displays & box is sitting there without disk activity.. ctrl+alt+T opens a terminal but it's without window borders... on i386 install I tried after 6+ mins `xfsettingsd --replace &` and it appeared to come eventually, but I don't think the command did anything anyway instead coming good on its own eventually. this box is faster so I'll wait
it came good, taking about 4 mins before system looks good. dmesg appears pretty clean (nothing obvious as minimal reported), journalctl only shows "org.bluez" as an issue and I doubt that's the issue...
shutdown box, waited, turn on again & repeated, and the older install now boots & logins in as I'd expect (no 4 mins from turn on to ready)... passing test
