hp dc7700 (c2d-e6320, 8gb amd/ati rv610/radeon hd2400 pro/xt) i may switch and do an install to this box (nah I want dinner, so cutting this short & only had a quick play around with live session)
dell [optiplex] 780 (c2q-q9400, 8gb, amd/ati cedar radeon hd 5000/6000/7350/8350) adjust screens to match my setup (swap left & right) & general exploration opening random apps; but I'm enjoying it on this box (could just be the lower resolution screens are easier for me to read? ie. form factor issues here).. didn't win a mahjong though :(
dell [optiplex] 755 (c2d-e6850, 5gb, amd/ati radeon rv516/x1300/x1550) this box is nearby... but I think it's too under-powered now for GNOME, and I suspect there were issues with this card & GNOME/KDE of recent kernels, so exploration will be minimal...
ie. will it boot? any repeat of https://launchpad.net/bugs/2020164
on boot, background was a random mess of colors... i could see the maybe-subiquity dialog though (the window was clear and appeared on the mess of background... on changing background wallpaper I got one to show & was happy.. this issue isn't new & thus ignoring)
hp prodesk 400 g1 sff (i5-4570, 8gb, amd/ati cedar radeon hd 5000/6000/7350/8350) last hp8200 box just restarted.. so I'll roughly repeat what I did on that box here.. (same keyboard/screens - just different mouse; first step work out which one)
i attempted to repeat what i did in the last session (which resulted in https://bugs.launchpad.net/subiquity/+bug/2020164 problem) but no issues this time.. I likely performed everything faster than on hp8200 & I'd worked out which mouse it was before starting thus far less jiggles at start.. no issues here
again opening more random apps, change wallpaper inc. various added by gnome-backgrounds (something I was doing on hp8200).. screens were adjusted to match setup (just as done on hp8200 - identical screens)
hp 8200 elite sff (i5-2400, 8gb, nvidia quadro 600)
reported bug occurred at start; whilst still trying to work out which (of the six) mouse(s) is used by this box..
i adjust screen & did some other user behavior type stuff.. i opened a number of random apps.. i sudo `apt update` & was installed `gnome-backgrounds` to look at it & box just restarted...
I'm not going to blame the Ubuntu system for this though - but currently the box.. will continue on next box
