dell [optiplex] 780 (c2q-q9400, 8gb, amd/ati cedar radeon hd 5000/6000/7350/8350)
testcase: install using existing partition
(this was only done ~recently.. but i noted bits that I'd like to explore further if present for this install; I'm betting they aren't seen though!)
((( install was great last time, my packages-installed before & after install though had differences I didn't expect.. it's this package-diff results I'm talking about ^ )))

i booted system & selected lunar install; create package list pre-install
rebooted & attempt to boot live system failed; cursor only top left of screen.. left 25+ mins; SysRq unable to reboot -- however ignoring this as this box has done this before twice.. i believe local box issue; power off & retry

once booted; install was perfect
reboot & grub as expected; selected jammy & it looked untouched & as expected
reboot & selected kinetic this time, looks as expected & all good here

booted new install; installation media correct; directory metadata (on fs) looks as expected; bad joke from fortune, clementine started & all looks good... diff of packages pre & post install only shows expected 'upgraded' packages
booting debian now.. assuming all good too
