dell [optiplex] 780 (c2q-q9400, 8gb, amd/ati cedar radeon hd 5000/6000/7350/8350)
another attempt to TIME the boot... one fail/too-slow & one ??? good, see if I can concentrate this time.. 22:05 start

22:23 & left the room... 22:25 and returned & still just blinking cursor top left of each display
I'll give box 30 minutes to boot system before failing test...

At 36 mins I aborted testing/watching & turned box off... still just blinking cursor top left on each display... I'll look at this another day...

this issue reminds me of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/casper/+bug/1922342 but this box was never tagged with that issue! either way it's NOT a Lubuntu issue.. (i'll confirm when I can using Ubuntu/Xubuntu or another system)

dell [optiplex] 780 (c2q-q9400, 8gb, amd/ati cedar radeon hd 5000/6000/7350/8350)
primarily boot, quick look around, open random apps etc... (looking at boot speed, last d755 was slow!)
this is a slightly newer higher-end box so I'd expect it perform better than d755/dc7700 in boot, but it's taking ages with just a blinking cursor... 10 mins & no progress, 12-18 mins approx & giving up..

sony vaio svp112a1cw (i5-9400u, 4gb, intel haswell-ULT)
no timed boot, i expect it to be booted by the time I entered sl510 test results & get this far... (okay I beat boot, but not my much).
minimal play, primarily boot test. few random apps started then shtudown (touch screen works, battery shows correct results etc)

lenovo thinkpad sl510 (c2d-t6570, 2gb ram, i915)
enter at lubuntu/grub, a little over a minute before plymouth blue is visible, by ~2min30secs the desktop is being drawn... I think of this box as slow/limited, but it boots very reasonably.

dell [optiplex] 780 (c2q-q9400, 8gb, amd/ati cedar radeon hd 5000/6000/7350/8350)
second attempt to boot on this box... started at 21:45 this boot. grub appears quickly, enter at lubuntu then blinking cursor just like last time...

i was typing up bug report and didn't notice the screen change & thus didn't stop the stopwatch of this boot until way too late... time is of no value; but it booted in <10 mins (but I can't say how fast... I was typing bug report sorry).

dell [optiplex] 755 (c2d-e8300, 8gb, amd/ati radeon rv610/radeon hd2400 pro/xt)
primarily boot, quick look around, open random apps etc... (looking at boot speed, last d755 was slow!)
reasonable delay with black screen before a message appeared; once the first kernel message appeared it was quickly replaced by pretty plymouth, and in reasonable time a desktop appeared...

adjusted monitors to match setup (landscape+portrait) & a gap appears between them on moving windows around - YET none show in monitor.settings... ie. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxqt-session/+bug/1882411

hp dc7700 (c2d-e6320, 5gb, nvidia quadro nvs 290)
another quick test, boot primarily, adjust displays to match setup, open random apps etc
delay before plymouth appeared felt more reasonable on this box... again kernel messages appeared, but wasn't stuck there as long... nice plymouth blue, return to ACPI/ima/sdb no caching messages but appeared faster than last box..
(on this box, booting impish felt normal & exactly as expected...)

dell [optiplex] 755 (c2d-e6850, 5gb, amd/ati radeon rv516/x1300/x1550)
primarily boot test; quick look around
initially no plymouth, text boot messages inc. I/O error on dev fd0, sdb no caching page found (boot felt slow; stuck at text messages for a long period... but i've not used impish in awhile so subjective comparison is likely of no value...)
after what felt a long time, nice blue plymouth starts...
pcmanfm-qt to navigate to internal $HOME, open a few files using installed/default apps

MSI Modern 15 (Intel Core i5-10210U, Intel UHD, 32 GB RAM) #Bare-metal, not VM

Same thing I do every time. Boot, change keyboard and resolution, check existing bugs, open and close all apps, check random apps for deeper functionality, check internet, stream media, and shutdown.

No new bugs discovered. Same as the last time.
