dell [optiplex] 780 (c2q-q9400, 8gb, amd/ati cedar radeon hd 5000/6000/7350/8350)
testcase: install with an existing partition; sda1
** repeat attempt to install; this time `sudo -E calamares -d`

issue https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/calamares/+bug/1923126 is not noticed as this time it's recognizing sda1 as containing HIRSUTE which is being replaced by HIRSUTE.. which is correct... (why the issue isn't noticed very often!)

failed again with http://launchpad.net/bugs/1923128

this won't impact new users, but it will existing GNU/Linux users, as these are options beloved by distro hoppers, or people who broke their system & want to reinstall to fix the issue (without having to recover all data from backups, esp. if they don't have any). data in this case is NOT lost, but the 'quick re-install to fix' failed to work :(

testcase: install with an existing partition; sda1

installation failed with message
--
"Installation Failed"
External command finished with errors.
Command systemd-machine-id-setup finished with exit code 127.
Output:
systemd-machine-id-setup: error while loading shared libraries: libsystemd-shared-247.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
--

failing test as reboot (which showed debian bullseye background on grub, so grub-install hadn't run) failed to boot the 18.04/sda1 system (understandably given grub-install hadn't run)...

testcase: install with an existing partition; sda1
repeat attempt to install; this time `sudo -E calamares -d`
I attempted to install 'ubuntu hirsute' but it fails at grub-install (no efi I gather; http://launchpad.net/bugs/1923134), so re-trying lubuntu again
debian was returned to owner of MBR
install completed, no errors this time!
reboot, lubuntu groovy looks good (used for support)
reboot, lubuntu focal looks good (used for support)

reboot, lubuntu hirsute (new; was bionic), screens matched my setup, command history present (home directory details preserved), additional programs though no audacious (what I used in lubuntu 18.04) but instead rhythmbox which wasn't expected.. but I'll take that due to problems & repeat installing this three times + once with ubuntu.. and the strange programs the result of prior install being ubuntu (not lubuntu bionic, or lubuntu hirsute)... i didn't re-evaluate programs post-3x-failed-installs so passing result.

passing this now, but will confirm debian bullseye boots & return it's ownership of MBR
