(Virtual machine on an i5, 16 GB RAM, onboard Intel HD Graphics) #VirtualBox 6.1

This is an installation test.

Like normal, I just start the .iso in VirtualBox and let it do its thing. Even though it was downloaded and verified by zsync, I still let it go through the verification process - as I'd expect normal people to do when installing Lubuntu. When that completes, I set it to a higher resolution and start the installation process. I follow all the steps outlined above, making sure that each completes properly.

In this case, they all work. Everything has installed and the reboot was successful. In the previous test, I'd gone ahead and wiped out the partition on the virtual hard disk so I know that this installation must be the new installation. I also rotate usernames as one other way to ensure I'm not inadvertently booting to the existing install from a previous build.

When it reboots, I again go through the same steps that I go through for a live instance test. I open all the applications, poke around with some of their options, and make sure that everything still works. I also make sure that the LibreOffice bug is still there - and it is.

Other than that, I've got nothing new to report. The test went exactly as I expected it to.

One thing of note, that has been consistent since I started this, is that the monitor resolution doesn't 'stick' between reboots. I install, change the resolution, and reboot - and the resolution reverts to 800x600. There are other distros that do this and some that do not. I think it's a VirtualBox thing and not a Lubuntu thing. I haven't filed it as a bug because I'm not sure that it's a bug that is in Lubuntu or even a bug at all. Installing the VirtualBox tools doesn't work with this either. It gives a VBoxClient: Failed to register resizing support error.
