hp dc7900 (c2d-e8400, 4gb, intel 4 series integrated i915) it usually fails on this box because I've booted it before hand on dc7700 ISO was re-writen to thumb-drive (using my usual `dus`) this is now 2nd boot of it on this box; it failed.
hp dc7900 (c2d-e8400, 4gb, intel 4 series integrated i915) thumb-drive written with `gnome-disks` had already been booted on dc7700 http://launchpad.net/bugs/1899308
hp dc7700 (c2d-e6320, 5gb, nvidia quadro nvs 290) image was written with `gnome-disks` third boot of thumb-drive. box was turned off & left idle ~5 mins prior to turning on.
hp dc7700 (c2d-e6320, 5gb, nvidia quadro nvs 290) image was written with `gnome-disks` second boot of thumb-drive. (thumb-drive was removed & re-inserted prior to boot)
