dell [optiplex] 755 (c2d-e6850, 5gb, amd/ati radeon rv516/x1300/x1550)
testcase: BIOS, internet, no encryption, re-use /home thus manual partitioning

I forgot the `sudo -E calamares -d` to cause calamares to get extra debug info, so re-run
boot 'live' system & use KDE partition manager to erase sda9 (prior / which is listed as unknown), apply, then format is ext4 so sda9 again.
deactivate swap then exit KDE partition manager.
open term to use command to run calamares using `sudo -E calamares -d`
Summary - manual partitioning, cause format of sda9 (ext4) for '/" & no-format for sda8 or /home

bug reported - 1865817 (won't add to bugs so others aren't looking for it)
repeated command (ensuring nothing else is running? did I not close kde partition manager) & no segfault? and return to expect issue but detail for uploading to bug report this time :)

dell [optiplex] 755 (c2d-e6850, 5gb, amd/ati radeon rv516/x1300/x1550)
testcase: BIOS, no encryption, manual partitioning
replace prior Lubuntu 20.04 install; sda9 = / (format), sda8 / home (no-format)
NOTE: I have NOT rebooted, after last re-install (I'd get same results with rebooting having done it that way before). Calamares was only exited.
last install has mucked up sda9 (it reports "unknown" as type in KDE Partition Manager, which I loaded primarily to ensure no partitions were mounted). I exited KDE Partition manager without doing anything.

Fail
Command: wipefs --all /dev/sda9
Failed to erase filesystem signature on partition '/dev/sda9'. Could not delete file system on '/dev/sda9'

testcase: BIOS, no encryption, manual partitioning
replace prior Lubuntu 20.04 install; sda9 = / (format), sda8 / home (no-format)

Selecting the 'format' doesn't stick, so I changed it to reisfs clicked okay, then changed back to ext4 to get format ticked.

failed:
Command: sfdisk --force --apend /dev/sda
Command: mkfs.ext4 -qF /dev/sda9
Failed to create partition

testcase: BIOS, internet, no encryption, re-use /home and re-use / thus manual partitioning
system won't boot, so I'll do an install to get this system usable again. I'll prepare partitions myself and just use existing..
reboot, lubuntu 18.04 boots & operates normally
reboot, lubuntu 20.04 looks good
