| lenovo thinkpad sl510 (c2d-t6570, 2gb ram, i915)
laptop had external screen connected on floor so adjusted monitor setup to match
connect 2.4ghz hidden wpa2 wifi
qterminal, ping web to confirm connection.
maximize qterminal on lower screen, ouch... https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxqt-session/+bug/1809201
firefox; stream train crash videos
qterminal to load testy-testy ppa & `compton` play
numerous test things comparing compton before & after `apt upgrade compton` was performed & run again... no issues during testing.

adjust screens to match my setup (my right is portrait-left tilted)
firefox stream local news & videos, add ghostery
other minor stuff
primary focus was testy-testy `compton` testing, so testing of compton & usage of copy/pasting text, any effect of youtube streaming & other operations was explored, then ppa added, killall compton, compton running again & re-try what i did before, effects now 1/5th-1/8th the speed; worse than other d755, rather like d780/d960
suspend test, waited, resume (compton was running), no messages noticed on compton terminal on resume, alas no sound....
a ^R or refresh of train-crash youtube vid on firefox returned sound... ignoring.

another test primarily aimed at `compton` from testy-testy
stream some news using firefox (window, fullscreen)
loads done in qterminal
suspended system, waited, on wake i had screensaver which went funny on moving mouse --- but eventually woke up - I'll blame `compton` from testy-testy here as it just appeared ultra slow to respond to key or mouse-movement; but eventually did (alas without sound)
no...
on killing `compton` system was back to normal.. I noted an error message on compton's screen (run from qterminal)
[ 08/19/19 08:30:43.729 x_create_picture_with_pictfmt_and_pixmap ERROR [ failed to create picture
[ 08/19/19 08:30:43.730 paint_one ERROR ] Window 0x01e00061 is missing painting data
I suspect this relates to the issues graphically that were evident when I tried to wake screensaver -- which were obvious I gather only because the testy-testy compton had slowed screen down heaps.
compton is now killed, suspended again.. woke with power button, screensaver as before, it woke instantly but no more messages on qterminal...
i did a bunch of other testing related to compton with numerous suspends, most but not all (5th or 6th resume had sound) it resumed without sound. i did have some strange behavior on suspend with `compton` running that I won't record here, it's recorded somewhat in https://notes.lubuntu.me/WQJSn1pvRLufC3rkrGEEJw

connect wifi (5ghz hidden wpa2)
stream some news, media keys adjust volume (window, fullscreen briefly)
primary focus was testy-testy compton test; so anything required for that (copy/paste, cancel run, commands, play with this & that... )
it really was a minimal play, much was done only in CLI/bash, but some minor general exploration looking for effects from changes..
