lenovo thinkpad sl510 (c2d-t6570, 2gb ram, i915)
connect wifi (hidden 2.4ghz wpa2)
ctrl+alt+t to open term, sudo apt update
attach external keyboard, continue opening of menu items (internet, office sound-video, system-tools)
at quassel, I entered room & sent private message to this term, replied back from this term
battery was near depleted on start of test so power was connected; battery panel indicator has been appropriate (the few times I've looked)

on going thru menu items (system-tools) one of kde.partition.manager or muon.package.manager gave me an error message about running as user but I closed too quickly.. it felt wrong the moment I closed, but I was unable to re-create message during this session.. (i may need to boot on another box & see if I can work out what i saw...)

suspend system, waited, it resumed..
as I hadn't used sound this system, I opened firefox & searched for 'free music' & played whatever first result was to confirm audio all okay. media keys worked to vol-up & vol-down

hp 8200 elite sff (i5-2400, 8gb, nvidia quadro 600)
adjust displays to match my setup (default-right is below default-left)
move panel to bottom display (other monitor to default)
firefox; stream youtube abc news 24 in window, maximized, f11 & fullscreen on each display
keyboard media keys adjust volume up, down, mute, unmute
i started using all menu items (accessories) and came to QtPass - https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qtpass/+bug/1829693
menu open - did only accessories, education, games & graphics
pcmanfm-qt to open hdd parts & find files and open using default apps (/gnumeric didn't have anything but I'm ignoring that file, .ppd opened in text editor, jpg failed to open but I'll blame file..)
adjust some lxqt appearance items, then window manager prefs to make more like my preferences
suspended system, forgot about it so left longer than usual, on resume everything continued..
