pcmanfm-qt to explore partitions, this had external hdd so loads of files, vlc & other default apps (qpdfview for pdfs)

alt+fn (other fn keys too) were switching to tty too
I'm going to shutdown & explore this on another box.
For now I'm blaming box (old PSU not giving enough power as keyboard is shared, kvm switch takes power too)

to explore alt+f4 on dc700; all good here.
take note of battery stats, connect wifi (5ghz hidden wpa2)
firefox, stream local news in window, maximized, f11 & fullscreen
pcmanfm-qt to parts & open a (very) few files in default apps, vlc etc
media keys all work; battery dropped on panel applet, showed charging when i connected charger
suspended system, waited, then pressed power & it resumed correctly
