| ibm thinkpad t43 (pentium m, 1.5gb ram, radeon x300)
adjusting external vga resolution to test http://launchpad.net/bugs/1809201 when resolution is identical, then reset to normal (higher external) to see how it performs..
when screen resolution was identical, no issues.
when external resolution was higher, no issues BUT external was primary! (on d610 laptop display was primary) and the menu now draws on laptop display even though panel is on external display - new & different issue!! menu drawing on different display to panel is far more significant... I've reported that issue.
I was NOT able to re-create the issue though, and had no issues otherwise (using firefox as my window (ublock etc), though didn't have anything streaming..) ignoring quirky menu now..
using settings->monitor-settings I turned off external display & applied, menu & all windows were forced to primary laptop display. then turned back on & applied external-monitor (higher-res. as in d610 test) ignored that second display didn't have background, moved firefox window to that display & maximized window by clicking maximize button on top window-border - only 2/3rds of screen (vertical anyway; it used full width) was used by maximized window. this issue is minor!

| dell latitude d610 (pentium m, 1gb, intel i915)
external vga connected; so adjust displays (default=mirror) to match my setup
sudo apt update (ethernet), connect wifi, ping -I confirm wifi all good
firefox; ublock origin, look & stream some news (window, f11, fullscreen)
**NOTE** the d610 has volume keys; they didn't work (but I always ignored them anyway; preferring fn-pgup & fn-pgdn which tested & work perfectly...) so I'm not raising lp.bug.report
**NOTE** firefox was on second monitor; when I maximized its window using maximize window-button it would use full screen width, but only occupy top 2/3rds of display; I've noted this before... laptop display & external vga are different resolutions; it does not occur when resolution is the same (as I recall), is not ideal but I'll ignore for now. if I used f11 or fullscreen using firefox tabs the whole display was used
