HP Compaq nc6220
Intel Pentium M 2.0GHz, RAM 1GB
14.1" 1400 x 1050 px
- Installed using Finnish ("Suomi"). Everything LXQt related seems fine, but LibreOffice and Firefox were in English. Installing libreoffice-l10n-fi set LibreOffice to Finnish. Installing firefox-locale-fi and adding Finnish to list of locales in Firefox's preferences set Firefox to Finnish.
- Sound OK but plugging in headphones doesn't mute the build-in speaker. Didn't try to find a fix.
- Wlan, ethernet, SD-card reader etc OK. DVD OK (didn't test burning). Even Fn-keys for brightness, volume +- and mute OK.
- Didn't test modem, serial port or microphone.

Overall:
Used command line and system. Seems OK.

Cosmic Final as of Sunday 14th October 2018

Downloaded 32-bit iso, installed it, used it - fine except for a few quirks.

Hardware details:
Samsung NC10 Netbook
Intel Atom N270, 1.66GHz, 32-bit, 2GiB RAM, 149.05 GiB hard drive, no optical drive, Ethernet and WiFi connections.
Used USB flashdrive to install, used WiFi connection for the Internet.

During install:-
* When setting Region: Europe, Zone:London, the entry "UnitedKingdom" needs a space in it.
* When using partitioner, the "Edit Existing Partition" was unusable until maximised.
* One of the progress messages reads "Starts procedure and passes 'fw_type'" (didn't catch all of the message). Do you really think the end users should be seeing this?

Normal use, after install:-
* Using LO Writer, I pressed F1 for help and got the message "LibreOffice builtin help for current UI language (English(USA)) is not installed on your system" and this is wrong because I told the installer to use British English.
* Played around with Firefox, LO Writer, LO Calc
* LO Calc was a bit sluggish in starting.
* Games. Is there anything besides 2048-Qt that can go in here? At least a meta-package of games that don't drag in a huge swathe of dependencies.
* Installing emacs in bash "sudo apt install emacs" worked but the prompt "Do you want to continue? [Y/n]" does not appear until you press a key - I used SHIFT (this could be because it does not have a newline in it).

Ubuntu wiki states lubuntu can be installed with 512MB of memory and 5GB disk space, but the installation requires 1024MB of RAM and 8GB disk space.
Poor installer scaling on a low-res (800x600) display.

Lenovo S10-2 netbook
Intel Atom N280
1024x600 screen resolution

- fn-keys for brightness, volume etc work
- installed with LUKS
- Some preferences windows can't be resized enough to make the apply/cancel/ok buttons accessible on this resolution - even after adjusting the system font size and selecting a more compact Qt theme. Works after moving the window past the upper screen edge with Alt/right-click -> move window. I wouldn't call this a bug, but maybe the minimum requirements should mention this.
