re-test just to look at suspend mode -- opening terminal & entering `sudo systemctl suspend`, on waking I'm greeted by the logout/suspend/reboot/shutdown menu???? (i used command to suspend, waited 4+ mins & didn't touch mouse)... I re-try (waiting ~4 mins) but it wakes normally, re-try & normal behavior (repeated a number of times), it's now misbehaving but I've lost count -- it's not normal/expected behavior, but ???
i ctrl-alt-T to get terminal, `sudo shutdown -h now` & got 'squashfs: unable to read' errors, so I'm classing this all good (but that thumb-drive a fail; used only today on d610)

re-run of test but focusing only on suspending & mouse-pointer post-wake...
using `sudo systemctl suspend`, waiting briefly & then wake - mouse-pointer was okay
repeated twice more `sudo systemctl suspend`, wait & wake - mouse pointer okay.
put to sleep with menu (like prior test; mouse over terminal), waited then awoke - mouse pointer okay.
put to sleep with menu (again, mouse over nothing but wallpaper), waited then awoke - no mouse pointer
-- yet this time it came good on its on, before I worked out where pointer was & before I could get to menu...
yes I could re-create bug briefly; but then okay.. so passing..

boot, `sudo apt update` using ethernet; good, connect wifi (unplug ethernet) & `sudo apt update`; good; open software (close; only single random app this test), firefox; add ublock origin then watch utube vid, all fine. suspend, it wakes (with pointer).., suspend, wake (pointer again but power (shutdown,suspend,restart,logout..) menu is visible??, esp & ignore it, suspend.. wake & power [menu; shutdown/suspend/logout/restart menu is there again...) still visible, but I do have mouse-pointer, .. suspend/wake again, suspend/wake but appears to have locked up...
I waited, couldn't get machine back to usable state, but the mouse-pointer was what I was doing the repeated 'sleep-wake' testing for; it always returned and I doubt 'live' users would sleep/wake like I did, so I'm passing this test with note here; i'm blaming me [user] as I didn't wait long enough for suspend/wakes to be valid :)

boot, open term & sudo apt update; load firefox, add ublock origin, youtube & watch vid, two random apps from [whisker] menu (pidgin & sudoku) then suspend 'live' machine, wake (it appeared as if mouse-pointer didn't restore post-wake, which made selecting menu okay, on selecting menu pointer appears again... suspended again, mouse-pointer disappeared on wake ... once menu is selected (mouse-pointer returns).. suspended again (mouse-pointer didn't return on network, clock etc - selections made by visible changes on items showing where mouse is .. mouse-pointer returns when you move it over whisker-menu....
ignoring minor mouse-pointer bug; all was good.
