As far as booting the live session, used boot params "live" . . . using other boot params such as "aty128fb" and such would not boot the live dvd--"live" brought the same errors reported by "erhard-f" . . . the "problems loading kernel cert" (which I still see when booting the installed system now) . . . but I just waited for perhaps a couple minutes . . . then a"not a typewriter" error showed a few times . . . then it went to "force tty" . . . which showed a tty log in . . . one time I tried to enter something there, but made no difference . . . and perhaps another minute or two passed . . . and viola the cursor appeared . . . followed by the U-MATE desktop live session. So, the error that seems to be breaking erhard's live session, is just a time stumble on the way to a working live session for my computer.
