autologin was also tagged; that worked
install has FIREFOX, SNAPD & snap packages installed.
install did work; but doesn't match expectations due to calamares stopping at error.. no file-system metadata & what was installed wasn't as expected
hp dc7700 (c2d-e6320, 8gb, amd/ati rv610/radeon hd2400 pro/xt) switching mirror & will `sudo apt update` before starting calamares.
calamares actually reported no internet (i'd confirmed internet was active prior to this.. but it appeared to 'drop' or have problems very early into calamares checking & thus it reported no-internet... no prob.
reboot & install exactly as expected. no internet options, snap list told me I could install snapd, all disk allocated etc.
