Seemed okay on initial boot with VBox 5.2.10 r122088 (Qt5.9.5), failed twice subsequently -- apparently didn't reach ubiquity -- then worked again on fourth time, failed fifth. Will attach screenshot if I can figure out how, but it finishes up with "fbcon_switch: detected unhandled fb_set_par error, error code -16" and seems similar to this Manjaro report that suggests VBox doesn't like some kernels -- https://forum.manjaro.org/t/kernel-4-12-1-in-virtualbox/27834

Apologies but I don't have time right now to update VBox or look into further. When it does boot default applications seem okay.
