    hp dx6120mt (mini-tower, pentium 4, 3gb, winfast clone of nvidia 7600gt)
clicked install 3rd party this time, see if I have issues with https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kubuntu-meta/+bug/1891408 still

second attempt at manual install.. turns out after DELETE, then CREATE with same options, the partition RETURNS and without FORMAT checked (I didn't check it; didn't even notice box) it re-uses the old partition - explaining my last attempt.

I clicked FORMAT this time, and ubiquity has crashed.. I could use CTRL+ALT+T to open terminal so clicked OK and it's started *live* mode... video artifacts now visible so https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1891408 (which is filed against wrong package!)

    dell [optiplex] 755 (c2d-e8300, 8gb, amd/ati radeon rv610/radeon hd2400 pro/xt)
this box is amd64 (so will be quicker), but the non-flashing screens (due http://launchpad.net/bugs/1891408 on dx6120) won't make headache worse...

box had 2 installs (sda1 & sda5), i opted to replace sda5 ensuring format was checked.

reboot, old system (lubu 18.04.5) looks good
reboot, login to new system, password didn't appear as dots as I entered it, ignoring
disk is as appropriate, kubuntu looks good.

rebooted & entered password again, no dots appear as I type into sddm. If i click inside a password box dots do appear, and I've noted identical behavior before in Lubuntu testing on this box.

xubuntu bionic daily; error restoring applications ; on a formatted

didn't find install-alongside, so switched to this QA testcase..
i just deleted the SDA1 partition & then re-created it for install..

error has appeared (looks like https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1891275)
    --
    Error restoring installed application.
An error occurred while restoring previously-installed applications. The installation will continue, but you may have to manually reinstall some applications after the computer reboot.
    --
I erased & re-created the single partition on this system, so don't expect this error. I don't expect any restoration of packages to occur, but even if it did - my install was from the same image with no packages added (unless downloaded & installed during install itself, which could have been done again).

The installer then exited??? no reboot message at all??? !!!

I manually rebooted the 'live' image since I was thrown back at desktop (I clicked INSTALL and not TRY at the beginning, i didn't expect to end up in the TRY mode at all)

this is weird... Login to what I expect to be a CLEAN/FRESH Install, and firefox opened at my artifacts bug report for the prior install???? command history is present (df, lsb_release & other commands used to test post-install). there is a single install which should have been formatted, so something is wrong (or I did something wrong..)

Was there an acceptance box I misread & thus missed, that caused the intended format (erase partition, create partition) to be NOT done, and thus only system directories were erased; explaining the attempt to restore packages??? this test is of no value until re-done..
