Installing Kubuntu Test: wdi-004
Result: No issues. However, after reboot, installation takes quite a long time (much longer than Ubuntu) so maybe it would be good to put up a message or progress indicator so that end-users don't wander what's happening. I had to switch to virtual console to check what's going on and that there are no blocked processes. Apart from that small remark, there were no other issues, after completing the install I successfully logged both in Kubuntu and in host OS (Windows 7 Home 64 bit).
This was a test of wubi downloading and installing Kubuntu 12.04 on April 24, 2012. Using Intel i7-2600K cpu on Gigabyte z68u board with 16 gig corsair ram. Seagate 1tb 7200 rpm hard drive, into Window 7 home premium. Wubi vers wubi-r266 and dated today .
Wubi ran flawlessly, all tests passed. In total download and install to Kubuntu desktop approx. 1 hour. No problems encountered.
