Hardware is Intel based Dell Inspiron 9400, typically a safe bet with just about any install CD. Going with the default Ext4 filesystem for root, the install went fine. Makes me suspect btrfs install is broken in general.

Note: The test case doesn't specify btrfs, so I'm moving this from critical to normal as it's not an RC bug - ScottK
