Briefly got ahold of my daughter's Mac an the image booted into a live session and worked as expected.

Needs macfanctld in order to get fans working ( not in the repos ), docs need a bit of fixing ( David Wonderly assures me that this is being worked upon actively ). Wireless will only work after installing linux-firmware-nonfree
