Live Session Start

  1. Boot up the iso using a CD/DVD or USB Key
    1. FAMILY boot screen is displayed
  2. When ubiquity starts select your language in the left column
    1. Language is selected, all labels are changed to translated versions
  3. Press "Try FAMILY" and wait for the Live session to start
    1. Unity interface is displayed

If you press any key at startup or if you are testing another distribution the testcase will be as described below

  1. Boot up the iso using a CD/DVD or USB Key
    1. Boot screen is displayed
  2. Select your language for the install and press "Enter"
    1. Language is selected, all labels are changed to translated versions
  3. Press "Try without any changes to your computer" and press "Enter", wait for the Live session to start
    1. Desktop is displayed

Live Session Finish

  1. Click on gear icon in top right corner of the screen
    1. Menu with 'Shut Down..' option appears
  2. Select 'Shut down...' from the drop down list
    1. Shut Down dialog appears
  3. Click the 'Shut Down' button on the appearing dialog
    1. Shutdown procedure intitiated, console is displayed
  4. Remove install media and press ENTER when instructed
    1. Computer shuts down

Live Session Persistence

  1. Create a partition (on a usb stick or regular disk/image) to be used for persistence
    • Create a new ext3 filesystem with a label of 'casper-rw' on the partition (erasing any old partition there to prevent previous data from interfering with tests)
    • Start your machine with the install media in place
    • When ubiquity starts select your language in the left column
    • Press Try FAMILY-"version"
    • Browse webpages in firefox
    • Restart live image back into a persistent session
    • Start firefox again
    1. History should list webpages that you visited in the previous session

If you press any key at startup or if you are testing another distribution the testcase will be as described below

    • Press F6, add persistent to the boot command line and press "Enter"
    • Wait for the Live session to start
    • Browse webpages in firefox (or chromium)
    • Restart live image back into a persistent session
    • Start firefox (or chromium) again
    1. History should list webpages that you visited in the previous session
