| 272406 bug -- same as with the 64 bit version. Can't load GUI. Gray screen with horizontal flashing black stripes. Ctrl-shift F1 takes me to command-line interface, which seems to work.

| Alpha 6 CD Live boot hangs at the point where Gnome 2 should display the background on IBM Thinkpad R31. Same symptoms occurred on Alpha 4. Alpha 5 as initially issued works, later updates around 2.6.27-3 time cause same failure.

| Holdover from alpha5. Booting from DesktopCD has display (Apple 23 Inch Cinema HD) going into "standby" mode during IPL. Once activity from the optical drive stops I can open a text console (<alt><ctrl><F3>) and manually edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf to add the line
Driver "radeonhd"
to the "device" section, after which restarting X with <ctrl><alt><backspace> results in a fully functional desktop.
The video card in this machine is an ATI Radeon HD 3870, the base machine is a Gigabyte EP-35-DS3R with Intel E8400 CPU.
