sony vaio svp112a1cw (i5-9400u, 4gb, intel haswell-ULT)
4 errors line appear briefly; then box moves to next device (ie. won't boot) identical SHIM issue as originally noted with impish
lenovo thinkpad x201 (i5-m520, 4gb, i915) boot, open random apps, some generic user play this session was perfect
dell [optiplex] 780 (c2q-q9400, 8gb, amd/ati cedar radeon hd 5000/6000/7350/8350)
CD/DVD tray is ejected during boot - would this be a problem if my media was on CD/DVD?? - https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/udev/+bug/1943662
otherwise I adjusted displays to match setup (swap left-right & my right is portrait-right for gnome), random user type play without issue
hp 8200 elite sff (i5-2400, 8gb, nvidia quadro 600) adjust displays to match my config open random apps, maximize, minimize, move windows around etc or generic user play and all great here!
dell [optiplex] 755 (c2d-e6850, 5gb, amd/ati radeon rv516/x1300/x1550) correct keyboard tapped in time so media check finally performed ; media passes :) I'll just do boot test on this box; don't want graphic issues again.. alas main wallpaper is black & white glitches so cannot ignore; will use https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-meta/+bug/1854621
graphic glitches are NOT new; side effect of HWE kernel... ISO is valid in this test
hp dc7700 (c2d-e6320, 5gb, nvidia quadro nvs 290) general play around on box whilst expecting the media check would complete... then went to scan for output - nope; none exists for this release (what I was looking for occurred only groovy+) looks good here, at least until i adjusted displays (then blue background,
loads of nouveau errors now fill dmesg... aka https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1930945 but that was impish..
the video issue I'm reporting here is NOT new, is not an ISO issue, just consequences of HWE stack & really old video card... occurs is later releases (new filing as I didn't find one for bionic)
