boot test primarily, a few different (random) apps opened before shutdown

| guiverc | 2021-07-24 22:57 | | lenovo thinkpad sl510 (c2d-t6570, 2gb ram, i915)
boot test primarily...
this device is underpowered & I'd not use GNOME, but thunderbird, nautilus & a few apps started correctly, it's usable & works...

boot test only; another old box with graphics issues - but I'll not go looking for them; only reporting if seen on 'try' or first few seconds of 'gnome' session (to confirm it looks good & valid)
nah issues are visible at start & at bottom of top panel..
Sorry Ubuntu 21.01 has experienced an internal error like hp8200, try and file again.. (problem in gnome-shell cannot be reported it says; text is hard to read, I'll ignore though)
otherwise this boot looks good

another box I'm not interested in; this box doesn't have video issues though :)
first boot failed? I'm sure i correctly selected thumb-drive boot but I was watching this display as I entered boxes I planned on running boot-test on so possibly my mistake... re-trying
second boot is good
opened random apps inc. nautilus & what I did on dc7700; no issues on this box with graphics when adjusted to match my setup as expected
system has reported an internal error - reporting but it won't let me, it says my "distro-info-data" is out-of-date... that is new; it was updated on my primary box last couple of hours I noted

this box has [graphic] issues with ubuntu/kubuntu but i'm primarily using the box to validate media prior to a box where I believe ISO will not boot..
i won't explore much on this box... on boot it looks good
open nautilus & a few other apps, then adjusted screens to match my setup & wallpapers gone; background now strong-bright-blue; dmesg filled with messages, or https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1930945 - ignoring it.
harder to find the 'Check finished: no errors found" - but media validation has completed
