dell [optiplex] 780 (c2q-q9400, 8gb, amd/ati cedar radeon hd 5000/6000/7350/8350)
adjust displays to match my setup (swap left/right, my-right is portrait-right in gnome)
nautilus to navigate to installed $HOME (no encryption) & get some music playing in background.. then open random files in default/installed apps (even running some (xrandr) scripts that were made on lubuntu 18.04/lxde which caused dock to switch monitors which surprised me but no ill effects
operation was smooth & nice..

lenovo thinkpad sl510 (c2d-t6570, 2gb ram, i915)
booted way quicker than the motion.computing...
general play, didn't connect to hidden.wpa2 wifi but it worked in lubuntu so assuming it'll work here too, media keys adjusted volume (except mute - but i don't use that key as it's weird)
nautilus was unable to navigate to installed $HOME directory; but being laptop I'd expect encrypted drive so I ignored it.. good as far as I tested.

motion computing j3400 (c2d-u9400, 4gb, intel mobile 4 series)
(feels like it's taking ages to boot, but I noted the same with lubuntu today... so the issue isn't just ubuntu desktop.. really slow to boot up)
wacom pen works in selecting try ubuntu & during normal desktop operation
disconnected power & panel indicated correctly; both primary & 'extra' battery show & reflected correct (& changing) results. using ethernet `sudo apt update` works...
skipping wifi as that worked in lubuntu when tested... slow to boot

lenovo thinkpad x201 (i5-m520, 4gb, i915)
media keys worked as expected; power cord disconnected & connected with correct indicators on screen.. plugged in ethernet & valid responses on screen.. (skipped wifi as it's hidden; it works in lubuntu so expecting it's all good here too).. some generic user play & all good
(I had expected external display to be connected during this test; but it wasn't so skipped that)

sony vaio svp112a1cw (i5-9400u, 4gb, intel haswell-ULT)
touch screen works as expected, battery indicator & all looks good
my wifi is hidden so it wasn't found & I skipped connecting (it works in lubuntu so it'll work here)
some user type behavior & changes..
adjusting volume & brightness with fn keys all work as expected
passing test as I dislike this form.factor/device

dell [optiplex] 755 (c2d-e6850, 5gb, amd/ati radeon rv516/x1300/x1550)
graphic glitches show up @ try/install screen, and are present on desktop once fully drawn too.. changing wallpaper can result in blocky-bad-signal-tv version of wallpaper, no wallpaper, or a messy mix of ???? - https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-meta/+bug/1854621

i kept switching (changing wallpapers) until it got back to something okay (default background actually) and won't touch that anymore.. it's not impacting use of box (except for distraction value).. and it's been static so far

nautilus to navigate to an installed $HOME and then open random files using installed apps (png, txt, odt, zip, etc)

issues with wallpaper only noticed on boot & when changing it ... otherwise it was good
