NOTE: this boot is using usual thumb-drive (validated in two prior tests)
primarily interested in boot to test for https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-cdimage/+bug/1886148
AND IT'S BOOTED - WTF SURPRISE.... I wouldn't have used the DVDR if I expected this to boot, though of testing the thumb-drive first, but expecting failure decided I'd have success first...
MINIMAL TESTING, only focused on booting issue...

loads of line 49 can't open /dev/sr0: No medium found
but now get a checking instead of end-boot & permission to download !!!
fsck:md5sums%
(I hit keys during boot so what I'm seeing maybe not normal; I accidentality hit shift+ins on keyboard trying to paste machine into wrong keyboard which could be why I'm seeing messages)
check finished: no errors found
minimal testing, primarily interested in boot to test for https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-cdimage/+bug/1886148
some exploration; didn't find messages I saw on boot though (was hoping to copy elsewhere)

adjust displays to match my setup (landscape+portrait)

first boot had me confused, second (portrait) display was showing nothing.. monitor settings showed both displays recognized, changing arrangement appeared to work going by one display that was operating, but other remained black...
I checked cables, then rebooted.. I turned black-display off & back on during reboot and suddenly I had both displays working.. Issue appears to be my display.
On reboot, everything was as expected, minor checks (user type behavior, make displays match my setup, open random apps etc) are all good

Ran a quick test looking for bug 1886148 http://launchpad.net/bugs/1886148
Booting in BIOS mode with media created by Rufus in Windows - failed -
Booting with media created by "Startup Disk Creator" in Lubuntu - success
Thus will give this a pass
