dell latitude d610 (pentium m, 1gb, intel i915) on another QA-test (install something-else) on reboot I saw a 18.10 plymouth screen I'm sure.. so this boot is partially to look for that; but as I didn't test using this laptop earlier, will do that as well. found package (using bash or cli).. confirmed ethernet was working, connected & tested wifi, suspended machine, woke up, firefox, add ublock origin then stream local (abc 24) news. all good.
hp dx6120mt (mini-tower, pentium 4 dual core, 3gb, winfast clone of nvidia 7600gt) `sudo apt update` (check network), thunar (explore fs), change wallpaper, appearance (change style, icons etc), look thru menus, firefox, add ublock origin, stream abc news (no speakers & didn't connect headset, so picture worked & assuming audio), loaded `software`, looked thru 'installed', searched for `xbill` (no luck), then `xscorch` (yeah) so installed.. launched .. (round 1)... shutdown; all good.
ibm thinkpad t43 (pentium m, 1.5gb ram, radeon x300) boot, had second monitor connected so changed display-config to match my setup (vga to right), open term & `sudo apt update` (confirm network works), mousepad to create 'blah', in terminal confirm it was correct `file` type.. firefox, add ublock origin, watch streamed news, change background pictures on both monitors, etc. all good
