Very poor performance with xserver-xorg-video-nouveau live bionic beta-1

Hardware: circa 2009 NVIDIA-based test machine

Qualitatively, all of the live session tests work as expected. The performance, however, is intermittently poor under live session circumstances - see bug report #1754072. Note that once 18.04 is installed, the video hardware is correctly detected and handled at boot time and the resultant performance is quite good.

Once a desktop is installed native, then my X-related performance issues go away. Probably, the installation process cures video configuration/driver ills. Using the following build for Xubuntu Bionic testing:

- Assembled 2009-04-15
- Zotac IONITX-F-E Mini-ITX motherboard
* CPU Intel Atom 330 (1.6GHz, dual-core)
* NVIDIA GeForce 9400
- RAM: 4GB DDR3
- Graphics support auto-selected:
* Kernel module - nvidiafb
* Xorg video driver - nvidia-340
