worked fine for me in kvm, talked to dave in irc, must have been VB issues for him

Failure could be a symptom of the testing environment (virtualbox).. Removing sdb worked as expected, but sda failed to boot. Additionally. Boot degraded = False seemed to hang. Requires reproduction.
